Self Help, Universal Energy, The Power of God

Some variations of self-help include a universal energy that can be harnessed to shape your life.

The idea is that you can tap into an energy flow in the universe to attract good things, or tune into a frequency that aligns with the vibrations of a beneficial force.

The Bible says that God is a living Spirit with the power to create and sustain all life.

Job 33:4 says, "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life."

There is a vast difference between God's ability compared to self-help efforts. God is more capable than you can imagine. Whatever is impossible for man, is possible for God.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."

The Bible says God has unlimited power and understanding of all things. Scripture says that He spoke the universe into existence.

Genesis 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

In the book of Exodus, when Moses asked God for His name, He declares, “I AM WHO I AM”, which implies His self-existent, eternal nature. God’s name signifies His active personal presence, unchanging identity, and power over all things.

Instead of a universal energy that can be used for self-help, the living God does according to His will with complete authority, and nobody can manipulate or challenge His power.

Daniel 4:35 says, "He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand."

Scripture implies that everything will continue according to God’s plan, regardless of any self-help theories, opinions, or beliefs.

The age of the universe is estimated at almost 14 billion years old. That seems like a long time, but not for God, who is said to exist beyond time and space, without beginning or end. Inhabiting eternity means knowing the past, present, and future.

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Apparently, God has perfect vision, and He sees everyone. There are no secrets, and no matter what you think, He already knows, so your life is an open book.

Hebrews 4:13 says, "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

The Bible says there is only one God, and His Son is the sole Mediator who offers reconciliation with direct access to God.

1 Timothy 2:5 says, ""For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus."

Jesus identifies Himself as the source of light in the world, offering the power of life to those who follow Him, and not darkness.

John 8:12 says, "Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."

To know God and His Son implies a personal relationship, instead of just an intellectual knowledge. It also includes knowing the true character, authority, power, and purpose of God.

John 17:3 says, "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Unlike a source of universal energy, which has no feelings, God reveals He has emotions.

1 John 4:16 says, "We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him."

He has compassion and concern for those who are in need, wanting to provide comfort and support.

Matthew 9:36 says, "But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them because they were distressed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd."

He shows affection for people, and enjoys being with them, even celebrating with gladness when they are saved.

Zephaniah 3:17 says, "The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

Some people think that no one understands how they feel, but the Bible says God is fully aware of who you are, what you think, and everything you do.

Psalm 139:1-3 says, "O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways."

In the book of John, a Samaritan woman encountered Jesus at the water well, and she was surprised that He already knew all about her struggles. Likewise, He knows you, not as a vague spiritual force, but as a Person who cares.

The Bible says that God is patiently waiting for people to respond to His offer, because He wants everyone to enjoy spiritual life with Him.

2 Peter 3:9 says, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

God’s book presents Him as the true source of life and light. A wise, powerful, omniscient God who loves His creation.
